August 6 - Next week, I'm heading back to the classroom myself, but as the teacher not a student. I'm putting this on my "gifts for our classroom" list. August 8 - I'm actually hoping this year that handmade candy kicks the cupcake craze to the curb. August 10 - Living in San Francisco you learn real quick to layer! It can be freezing in one part of the city and hotter than sin in another. August 11 - Over the years I've really valued the creative connections I've made with people. Sherri Haab is one of those people. She's incredibly gifted and giving of her knowledge. August 12 - Today was my first day back to school and I have a love/hate relationship with bulletin boards. Love making them, hate how much paper is used to create them. I solved the problem by using galvanized steel sheets for my backboard, and now...I have magnetic bulletin boards. August 13 - Friday the 13th! Well today SCREAMS for a book on Halloween Crafts. From the candy to the craftin' October 31st is a great day for creating something special (and of course spooky). I think I could give Martha and her take on Halloween a run for her well-earned money, but this year I'll tip my hat to this book instead. - Matthew Mead's Monster Book of Halloween
August 16 - I had to get my classroom ready this weekend, plus teach out-of-town classes. So I missed two days of recommendations. They're coming, but I need a craftier way to organize my schedule.
