| Always follow manufacturer's instructions and do not use Iron-On Tee Shirt Transfer Paper with laser printers. The heating elements in these printers will melt the transfer paper and ultimately damage the printer. Items you will need: macaroni & glitter iron-on All-cotton or cotton-blend fabric or garment (white and light colors work best) Ordinary Iron Smooth, hard flat surface (do not use ironing board or metal surfaces) A pillowcase Adult supervision when required Instructions: If possible wash and dry fabric once before beginning project. 1. Select your macaroni & glitter design - save or copy as a jpeg file onto your desktop or Adobe Photoshop. Or print directly from the web page. 2. Print images onto your transfer paper, most papers require you to print on the blank side of the paper, be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions. Choose the correct settings according to your printer style. Set paper thickness for standard paper and print. 3. Allow image to dry before proceeding. 4. Cut around the edges of your design, leaving 1/4" of white all the way around, including text. 5. Place your T-shirt, apron, bandana, or other material on a smooth, hard, non-porous surface. Hint: Do not use glass, metal or a padded ironing board. You'll get the best effect on old wooden table. 6. Preheat iron heat on highest setting for 8 minutes. DO NOT USE THE STEAM SETTING. 7. Place a pillowcase on the ironing surface for padding, and iron it to remove any wrinkles. Make sure the pillowcase and ironing surface are completely smooth. 8. Place the T-shirt, apron, or other material on top of the pillowcase. Iron the area on the item where the transfer will be applied; avoid placing the transfer on seams. 9. Let the surface of the item cool before placing the transfer on top. Place the transfer with the image face down and the white side up. Be sure to press firmly or the image will not transfer cleanly. Be sure to iron the corners and edges of the transfer completely. Caring for your new macaroni & glitter designed items Allow one project one day to dry before washing. Do not bleach. Some papers require that you not "re-iron" printed surface. Wash in cold water using a detergent with color protection. Always turn the item inside out to wash it. Remove the item immediately after the wash is done. For best results, line or air-dry. If the colors are bleeding, wash again in cold water until the excess ink disappears. |
